Vincent L. Shuler, age 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Brookside Care Center on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Vincent was born on February 25, 1929 in Janesville to the late Frank and Ruth (Kothman) Shuler Sr. On June 21, 1951, Vincent was united in marriage to Marilyn Sholtz in Milton. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2007. On September 24, 2011, he was united in marriage to Patsy Belongia Shuler.
Vincent started his teaching career in Clintonville and moved to Kenosha in 1957 where he continued teaching at McKinley Jr. High School until his retirement in 1991. Vince was an avid fisherman and a fan of the Badgers, Packers and Brewers. He was very active in the First Presbyterian Church and Masonic organizations.
Vincent is survived by, his wife, Patsy; two sons, Gary (Linda) Shuler and Jeffrey (Julia) Shuler of Diamond City, AR; his brother, Carl (Betty) Shuler of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister-in-law, Patricia Shuler of Janesville; four grandchildren, Bradley (Toni) Shuler, Erin (Jeffrey) Schabel, Melissa (Joseph) Andreoli and Nicholas Shuler; five great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Marilyn, he was preceded in death by, a son, Thomas Shuler; two brothers, John and Frank Jr. Shuler and a sister-in-law, Jean Shuler.
Vincent was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Vincent’s family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Brian Hettrick, the staff at Brookside Care Center and Hospice Alliance for their compassionate care of him.
Private family services for Vincent were held. Memorials would be appreciated to either the First Presbyterian Church, the Shrine Hospital of Chicago c/o Kenosha Shriners or Hospice Alliance.
