Vanda Rosina Miceli Parrone age 90 passed away on April 3, 2024, surrounded with love from family her wishes to be comfortable at home. She was born in Marano Marchesato Italy on May 20, 1933, to Maria DeFilippis and Giuseppe Miceli.
On October 1, 1955, she was married and had four wonderful children. in hopes of a better future Vanda and her children immigrated to America and settled in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Vanda started sewing as a family business at the age of eight. upon coming to Kenosha, she worked at Jockey and Montgomery ward until 1981 when she opened her own business Wanda Tailor shop and later Wanda’s Bridal Boutique. For over 25 years, she used her creativity and talent to not only mend people’s clothing but create custom gowns. She put her life into what she loved most and that was her family. Her pride and joy were her children, Nanna to six grandchildren and Nanna Nanna two great grandchildren. For years she hosted Sunday dinners as she enjoyed cooking and was great at it, never measuring just remembering it all. She will always be known for her famous Cudruriddri we all loved. Vanda had a heart of gold and would give anything she had to help others. Up until her passing, she remembered things from her childhood and would recite songs and life stories for us to listen to. She was a humble, hardworking, strong woman who instilled values in us all that can never be forgotten, and we will miss her dearly. The family would like to acknowledge her son Joe Parrone as her primary caregiver for the last few years.
