Thoughts for Thelma E. Dunnum;

  • Jack Niccolai says:

    I worked with Thelma at Salem for many years. Her energy seemed boundless. Her conversations almost always lead to a powerful laugh. I looked forward to seeing her at summer concerts. If I was performing in the concert she would make sure she said “Hi” and praised the performance. I also saw and talked to her at the occasional teacher retiree breakfasts. The first time I was elected to the Salem School Board, I received a letter from her. She told me she was excited and proud of my victory. She wrote “Salem is in good hands now”. I’ll miss her.

  • Thelma Dunnum, mentor and friend. Mrs Dunnum supervised me as a student teacher in 1972, and we continued our friendship forever. What a bright light in this world! Loved her critique of language; “Do not leave a dangling participle in a sentence”. Sympathy and prayers for the family are sent your way.

  • As Chaplain for the American Legion Post 21 and the Sons of The American Legion Squadron 21 in Kenosha Wisconsin, I’d like to say thank you for your service and God bless you, your family, and your friends. You’re all in my prayers. Just remember he was a gift from God and knowing him was even a bigger gift. 🙏🏻🫡
