Shirley Nichols

Shirley Nichols, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 19, 1938 in Nelma, WI, the daughter of George and Virgie Ingram. 

On September 28, 1957, Shirley married the love of her life, Jerry Nichols, in Mauston, WI. They shared 56 wonderful years together until Jerry’s passing on January 9, 2014. 

Shirley retired from Ametek, and Jerry retired from Camosy Construction. Together, they built a warm and loving home in Kenosha, WI, where they raised their family. Their greatest joy in life was their two daughters and their cherished grandchildren. 

Shirley and Jerry are survived by their daughters, Kimberly (Larry) Mankowski and Kathleen Nichols; grandchildren Scott Franklin, Ronald (Jenny) Franklin Jr., Autumn (Alex) Unrein, Austin (Laura) Watters, Laura Mankowski, and Jason (Ashley) Mankowski; great-grandchildren Andrew, Lily, Julian, and Bonnie; and great-great-grandchild Fletcher. 

Shirley’s strong faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with Jerry. A memorial service celebrating the lives of Shirley and Jerry will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI, on Monday, June 9, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and the service at 10:00 a.m.
