Secundino R. Veiga, MD, age 75 a resident of Zion IL died November 3, 2005 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on January 10, 1930 in Sagua La Grande Cuba he was the son of the late Secundino and Juana (Iturralde) Veiga.
On January 19, 1957 he married Jean Wilkinson at St. Romans Catholic Church in Chicago IL.
He graduated from Havana Medical School and interned at Charles Wilson Memorial Hospital in New York. His residency was at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago IL.
He was a pathologist at Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago Medical School and Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan IL.
He was member of St. Romans Catholic Church in Chicago IL. He was a Fello at the College of American Pathology and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He was listed in the Who?s Who of American Specialists Physicians and was a long time member of the Lake County Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
He is survived by his wife Jean; four children Richard Veiga MD of Waupaca WI, Peter Veiga of Zion IL, Ana Maria (William) Veiga Wright of Windamere FL and Paul Veiga of Lake Zurich IL; and many nieces and nephews and his little dog ?Mikey?.
