Sarah Rose Kochendorfer returned to the loving arms of the Lord on October 1st, following a long battle with complications from Cystic Fibrosis. Sarah was born on May 26, 2002 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to William and Kimberly (Walker) Kochendorfer. She was also welcomed into the world by her sister, Meredith Hinkes, and brother, Jack Hinkes.
Sarah had a sunshine smile and a resilient, fearless spirit. She was an inspiration to all who met her. Sarah loved school and attended third grade at Stocker Elementary where she had many friends. She loved Irish dance and was a Trinity Irish dancer. She performed with her Trinity friends at Irish Fest in August. She also enjoyed ice skating. Sarah loved parties and was the official family party planner. A budding artist, Sarah liked to draw and paint. She designed greeting cards and bookmarks. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up. She had three special pets: her dogs-Minnie and Max, and her rabbit-Oreo. One would often find Sarah playing Webkinz on her computer or watching the Disney channel while doing a breathing treatment in her favorite chair. During her recent hospital stay, she continued to entertain her caregivers and family with her humor, played with her Webkinz and Zoobles, and was the guest of honor at a family tea party.
In addition to her parents, sister and brother, Sarah will be missed and continued to be loved by her grandparents: Larry and Mona Kochendorfer of Bruce, Gary and Mary Walker of Jim Falls; aunts and uncles: Gai (Kochendorfer) and Bruce Lorenzen of Pleasant Prairie, Gary and Lorie Walker of Mayville, Lawrence Walker and special friend Carol Young of Chippewa Falls, Karen (Walker) and Wes Averette of Springboro, OH, Robert and Kathy Kochendorfer of Altoona, David and Janet Kochendorfer of Bruce, Larry and Kim Kochendorfer of Medford; her cousins: Heather Walker, Samantha Walker, Amanda Walker and fiance Jacob Mallmann, Tyler Walker, Alyssa Averette, Alexis Averette, Nathan and Jes Kochendorfer, Kyle Kochendorfer, Andy and Mary Kochendorfer, Beth (Kochendorfer) and Marcus Severson, Keri (Kochendorfer) and Tony Fitts, Blake and Kelley Kochendorfer , Tyler Kochendorfer; and second cousins: Emma, Evan, Leah, Olivia and Sylvia Kochendorfer, Alexa and Bodie Severson, Aidan and Olivia Fitts.
