Santos Orozco Castro age 93, born February 19, 1925 entered the spirit world Friday, May 18, 2018. Santos was born in and raised in Cotulla, Texas. Eventually he and his family settled in Wisconsin, and it was here that he met Elsie Elizabeth O’Connor. Soon after she became his wife and soul mate of 68 years. Santos is survived by his children: son Abel Castro (Phylis), Cruz Castro, Craig Castro, and daughters Carmen Castro-Garza (Luis), Christine Smith (Ray), Celestine (Tina) Koehn (Tom), and Cecelia Sanchez. He is preceded in death by his wife Elsie Castro, sons David Castro and Cornell Castro. Santos’ pride and joy were his 25 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
Santos was the most amazing father and was best known for his love of life, family and the Milwaukee Brewers. He had a welcoming persona with an amazing sense of humor. He loved to attend traditional Native American ceremonies and gatherings with his wife Elsie (Menominee) and his children.
Santos retired from American Motors 39 years ago. He loved spending time at his place on bass lake in Keshena. He was well known for being a lovable, caring, fun-loving person who enjoyed sitting outside in his back yard sipping a cold beer as family and friends gathered.
His family wishes to thank to Dr. Papp Dr. Ansani at All Saints Hospital in Racine for their extraordinary care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 25th, 2018 at 12:00 noon at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Keshena WI. (N816 State Highway 47) Visitation with the family will be on Friday at the church from 11:00AM until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
