Ruth Matter (1934 – 2010)

Ruth E. Matter, age 75 a resident of Sturtevant, WI passed onto eternal life May 4th 2010 surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on November 24, 1934 to Stephan and Mary Wozniak in Milwaukee WI. Ruth was united in marriage to Douglas Matter, November 20, 1954 in Brookfield, WI. She received a bachelors degree from Carthage College in 1988. Ruth was a social worker for 30 years and retired from Kenosha Human Development Services (KHDS) in 2009. She especially loved traveling with her husband Douglas, antiquing, gardening and shopping. Her family viewed her as a “very beautiful” woman.

Ruth is survived by her husband Douglas, son Doug (Jan) Matter of Las Vegas NV, daughters Victoria Matter of Sturtevant WI and Mary Jo (Steve) Clope of Racine WI. She is also survived by grandchildren Christine (Ruben) Nolasco, Lucy “Mary” (Luis) White, Nicole Matter, Sam Matter, Tony Matter, Candice Matter, Max Matter, Amber (Jeremy) Spencer, Cody Anderson, Jason Clope and Collin Clope and great grandchildren Jocelyn White, Julian Cruz, Thomas Spencer, R.J. Spencer, Alexis Spencer, Natile and Sophie. Ruth is further survived by one brother Steve Wozniak of Milwaukee WI.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 6, 2010 at the Westlawn Memorial Park Chapel (9000 Washington Avenue – Racine) at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated. Ruth was thankful for the support and faith of Dr. Mataczynski and Dr. Brennan.
