Ruth M. Kroupa, age 85 a resident of Pleasant Prairie, formerly of Racine died Monday December 19, 2005 at Grande Prairie Health and Rehab Center in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on October 1, 1920 in Union City New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Pitchford) Graham.
She was educated in the schools of Union City New Jersey and graduated with honors from St. Michaels High School.
She lived in New York for a brief time, where she met her husband Leslie J. Kroupa while he was on military leave. They would marry on December 23, 1944 in Union City New Jersey. For a brief time in 1945 they would reside in Newfoundland Canada in the military officer?s quarters there.
They moved to Racine in 1945.
She was employed at Dumore Manufacturing as a secretary, and then at JI Case as an executive secretary until her retirement in 1982.
She had most recently been a member of St. Lucy?s Catholic Church in Racine. She loved to play bridge and bowl.
She is survived by her husband of Pleasant Prairie; one son Stephen F. Kroupa of Kenosha; two daughters Mary E. Kroupa of Wausau, Margaret A. ?Marge? (Daniel) Krupp of Pleasant Prairie, and one grandson; Andrew Krupp of Pleasant Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Shannon Kroupa in 1977.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth will be held on Thursday December 22, 2005 at 7:00PM at St. Lucy?s Catholic Church in Racine. (3101-Drexel) Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 5:00PM until the time of mass. Private burial will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Racine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to either The Salvation Army or St. Lucy?s Catholic Church.
