Rosaria “Rosa” Volpentesta, 90, passed away at her home in Kenosha on March 10, 2005. She was born in Cosenza, Italy on April 25, 1914 to Francesco and Maria Teresa
(Mauro) Gallo.
On August 23, 1950 she married Antonio Volpentesta in Italy. Rosaria was a homemaker and a long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Italian American Club.
Rosa is survived by one daughter: Rosemary Mastronardi and fiance? Michael Bluma, both of Kenosha; one son: Louis ?Lou? Volpentesta of Kenosha; 1 granddaughter Sarah Mastronardi of Kenosha; 2 brothers: Salvatore (Censina) Gallo of Italy and Giovanni “John” (Irene) Gallo of Canada; a sister Rosina Gallo of Italy, nieces, nephews, and close family friend Michael Post. She is also survived by step-daughter Helen Turco, grandchildren and other loving family and friends.
Rosaria is preceded in death by her husband Antonio Volpentesta; her parents Francesco and Maria Teresa Gallo, one brother: Nicola Gallo; two sisters: Esternia Pino and Maria Gallo, also a step-daughter Josephine Turco and her son, Michael, and a step-son George Volpentesta and his son, Tony.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (2224 -45th St in Kenosha) at 11:00am on Thursday, March 17, 2005. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00am until the time of the mass. Entombment will be at All Saints Mausoleum immediately following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance, or the family, would be appreciated.
