Robert O. Schmidt (1933-2018)

Robert Otto Schmidt, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on July 1, 1933 in Kenosha to Otto and Margaret (Nieman) Schmidt and attended Mary D. Bradford High School. Robert served in the United states Army and was honorably discharged in 1961. He married Ruth Serjern in Kenosha in April 1964. He worked for many years and retired from American Motors/Chrylser. Robert had a passion for perch fishing and dedicated his life to his family.

He was preceded in death by, his grandmother, Anna Schmitt; his parents; his daughter, Dawn Jennings; a brother, Richard “Dickey” Schmidt his aunt and uncle, Ann and Walter Becker.

Robert is survived by, his wife, Ruth Schmidt; a sister, Elissa (Bob) Pischke; his son, Robert Schmidt; three granddaughters, Sara Cantwell, Heather Jennings and Chelsie Schmidt; five great grandchildren, James Jennings, Lechman, Arrianna Cantwell, Bryce Colin, Brody Colin and Johnathon Lechman as well as other family and friends.

A Memorial Mass for Robert will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (4816 – 7th Avenue). A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass.
