Robert Held (1932 – 2005)

Robert A. Held, 73, died in Racine on March 8, 2005. He was born in South Milwaukee on January 29, 1932 to the Karl and Irene (Szwedowski) Held.

On September 29, 1990 he married Betty Jensen at North Cape in Racine. Robert retired after 20years of working at GMC, and became self-employed working as the Chief Account at St. Mary?s Medical Center. He was an Elder and former usher at Faith Lutheran Church.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Betty, his son: James (Sharon) Held, a daughter Judith Held, and 5 step-sons: Rick (Marla) Benson, Steve Benson, John (Cindy) Benson, Robert (Karen) Benson, Timothy (Kellie) Benson; a brother Conrad (Claudia) Held; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his step-son Michael Benson, and sister Karole Perkins.

Funeral services for Robert will be held on Thursday March 10, 2005 at 11:00AM at Faith Lutheran Church (8500 Durand Ave., Sturtevant). Visitation with the family will be on Thursday March 10, 2005 at the Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
