Robert came to Kenosha, WI from Naples, Italy in 1947. He was educated in Kenosha schools, graduating from Bradford in 1958. Robert worked at American Motors from 1958-1983 and continued working for Chrysler until his retirement in 1989. He served as Kenosha’s Harbor Master for a few years and a driver for Auto Dealers Exchange for a bit before focusing on enjoying himself in retirement.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pauline (Manifold) D’Amore; children Denise (Gary) Oberst, Robert (Mary) D’Amore, and Debra (Blake) Topel; grandchildren Elizabeth (Greg) Zuver, Kari D’Amore, Christianna, D’Angelo, and Janiah Topel; great-grandchildren Abby, Ellie, and Benjamin Zuver; brothers Salvatore (Elaine) D’Amore and Mario D’Amore; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Giuseppe and Adele D’Amore and sister-in-law Jean D’Amore.
Robert spent his 35 years after retirement, of which he was very proud, engaged in many handiwork crafts, particularly woodworking: building decorative copper sprinklers, cupolas, furniture, key racks, paper towel holders, bird houses, bird feeders, trellises, Canadian geese, and reindeer.
Funeral services will be private.
