Robert “Bob” A. Wade Jr., age 67, a resident of Kenosha, died on Thursday August 6th, 2015 at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago.
Bob was born on September 16th, 1947 in Detroit MI to the late Robert A. and June L. Jacobson Wade, Sr. He moved to Kenosha as a child and attended St. Mark’s Grade School and St. Joseph’s High School where he participated in Football and Track. On September 28th, 1968 he married Lynn Newberry at St. Marks Catholic Church.
Bob spent the majority of his career in sales, starting with 7-up Bottling Company of Racine, and later, LoCicero Food Service. After completing his sales career he joined Cancer Treatment Center of America in the Transportation Department. He transported patients with the utmost care and compassion up until his death.
His hobbies were focused on his involvement and support of his kids and grandkids sports. When his children were young, he was highly involved in the Kenosha Ice Arena on the Board of Directors and as a Coach for the Kenosha Komets.
His favorite summertime hobby was his role as Head Pool Boy at one of Kenosha’s oldest swimming pools – ensuring a fun and enjoyable swim at his home for all family and friends.
Bob was a proud stockholder of the Green Bay Packers and cherished his memory of attending the Packers victory at Super Bowl II.
Bob is survived by his wife Lynn, two sons Peter J. (Laura) Wade and Christopher R. (Corbie) Wade and one daughter Janet L. (Rick) Frederick. He is also survived by six grandchildren Madelyn, Emma and Nathan Wade, Olivia Wade and Jameson and Clara Frederick. He is further survived by two brothers Thomas Wade of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Philip Wade of Greenfield, WI and three sisters Lyn A. Tepper of Grayslake, IL, Marcia Wade-Frey of Kenosha, WI and Barbara Savaglio of San Diego, CA.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Catherine Wade-Georgeson, brother Christopher Wade, and grandchildren Matthew and Isabella Wade.
Please join Bob’s family for an open house that will be a colorful and casual celebration of his life on Thursday, August 13th from 4:30-7:00PM at Southport Beach House, 7825 Third Ave. A brief prayer service at 7:00PM will conclude the evening.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in Bob’s memory to Assistance in Healthcare in Zion www.aih.org/zion, providing assistance with non-medical expenses to Cancer Patients and their families.
Thank you to our wonderful family and friends for your love and support during this difficult time, including Dad’s friends and co-workers at CTC.
Robyn says:
My boyfriend, Bart, worked with Rob every day for the past 8 years at CTCA. Bart talks about him over dinner almost every night. Whether it be a story about 7-Up, a new tip Rob gave him about living in Kenosha (we just moved here a few months ago) or just a funny story he was passing along, I feel like I knew him very well. Bart is just heartbroken over Rob’s passing and I wanted you to know that we are thinking about all of you in this difficult time. You should know that he has touched our lives through his kindness and friendship and we, more importantly, Bart, will never forget him.

Though I only knew him a short time, he always seemed like a quiet and nice man. My son Ethan lived coming over to swim with him and the other grandchildren. May you know he is at the lords side, with his new wings, watching over all of you. Our most sincere condolences.

I am so sorry for the loss of Rob. There were not many who worked for LoCicero that we the Rizzo’s considered family, but Rob was for sure someone we all loved and did in fact consider to be a part of the family. We all remember how he was a good friend to all of us, and I know my Dad will miss seeing him every once in a while across the Street.
