Rita M. Garnero, age 70, of Kenosha passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family who she so deeply cared for. Rita was born on May 21, 1947 in Kenosha to Charles and Frances (Loizzo) Cucunato. She was educated in the Kenosha schools and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1965. Rita married Fred Garnero on December 20, 1969 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a teller/supervisor at First Bank Southeast for many years and worked as a bookkeeper at PPG Management until her retirement in 2011. Rita was a member of the Kenosha Jacettes and she was a devoted catholic and life-long member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, reading, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy and what she will always be remembered for was her love of her family which was always #1 in her heart.
She was preceded in death by, her parents and her brother, Joseph Cucunato.
Rita is survived by, her husband of almost 50 years, Fred Garnero; her son, Joseph (Jocelyn) Garnero;
two daughters, Nicole (Keith) Ebner and Lisa Garnero all of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Jack, Mia, Nathan, Evelyn and Isabella; her brother, Frank (Lucille) Cucunato as well as other family and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (2224 – 45th Street) with burial to follow at St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance and Holy Rosary would be greatly appreciated.
