Richard Plovanich

The family of Richard “Rick” Plovanich is saddened to announce his passing on February 20, 2025, at the age of 69.

Rick loved The Bears, camping, gardening, and taking cruises. His favorite days were a sunny afternoon spent in his backyard and a Bears win in the evening.

Rick worked in manufacturing for over 40 years and was a master of his craft. He loved explaining how things worked and had a tool to fix anything.

Rick is survived by his children Beth (Chris) Slivon and Andrew (Zoe); his grandchildren Bria, Everett, and Beckett; and his siblings Jack (Mary) Plovanich, Mike (Kitty) Plovanich, Mary (Tom) Goodhall and Scott (Kim) Plovanich and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Nan, and his parents, John and Shirley Plovanich.

A luncheon will be held on Sunday, March 2, from 1pm to 3pm at Casa Capri (2129 Birch Road, Kenosha, WI). All are welcome to come celebrate Rick’s life.

Thoughts for Richard Plovanich;

    • What a shock. Rick was a close friend from the neighborhood and school. We did a lot together including being in each others weddings. We had lots of fun experiences over the years. We will miss his sense of humor and friendship.

  • Craig Seivert says:

    We were so sorry to hear about Rick. So many great memories playing ball (with a FEW beers after at Dicks) camping at baseball tournaments, and all the craziness that went along with it. He had a great laugh and a beautiful smile! Rick driving up to Whitewater in his Gremlin to spend the weekend with a car load of food from home! We were also fortunate to be in each others weddings. He was an amazing friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Craig and Nancy Seivert
