Richard “Richie” Julius Stasierowski, 68, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure and peripheral artery disease, surrounded by his loving family. Richie was born in Solingen, Germany on July 22, 1949 to the late Daniel Bogdan and Halina (Leoszkewicz) Stasierowski. Richie loved hamburgers burnt like hockey pucks, the Chicago Bears, playing Mahjong, his furry friend Rocky, watching football games at Spanky’s, wearing shorts, relaxing in his hot tub, green grass, playing cards with friends and most of all spending time with family. His final wishes were to have a Chicago Bear casket and to be buried near his 14-year-old granddaughter Nicole Lootans in New Muenster who died from a motocross accident almost 2 years ago.
Richie grew up going to Catholic schools in Chicago and he served as an altar boy at his church. In his younger years he raced at the Union Grove drag strip and also rode a motorcycle. He was united in marriage in 1968 to Patricia Kaiser and they had two children; Daniel and Krissy. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, which included being deployed to Vietnam where he served as a military policeman. His wife Patricia died of cancer in 1983 leaving him two young children to raise. Richie re-married Deborah Manseau in 1985. He worked as a parts manager at several auto dealerships until he suffered a stroke in 1987 which left him paralyzed on his left side. He was only 38 years old. Deborah and Richie divorced in 1994. In 2003 Richie married Barbara Ann Domenk who survives him.
His survivors include his children Kristen Lootans and Daniel Stasierowski. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Ashley Savaglio, Zachary Lootans, Daniel Jeffrey Stasierowski, and Jacob Lootans and by great grandchildren; Isaiah Kilpatrick and, Alijah Savaglio. He is also survived by many wonderful friends and relatives. Richie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Henry and granddaughter Nicole Lootans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church (9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd.). A visitation with the family will be held on Monday at the church from 8:30 A.M. until the time of Mass. Immediately following the Mass a burial will take place at St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery (6301 – 344th Avenue, New Munster) with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans or St. Anne’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
