Richard J. Baumgartner Sr., age 86 a resident of Burlington, WI died Friday November 11th 2011 at Aurora Medical Center in Burlington WI.
Born on March 4th 1925 in Burlington he was the son of the late Joseph and Alma (Scheel) Baumgartner.
A life long Burlington resident, he was educated in the schools of Burlington.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Infantry.
He was employed at Burlington Mills and then at various area foundry’s. He was also employed at Southern Center retiring in 1987. He was a member of Faith Chapel Church. He loved to hunt and fish and would take his boys hunting as well. He was avid wood carver and loved working with wood.
He is survived by his wife of Burlington, two sons Richard (Theresa F.) of Burlington, David (Diane) of Burlington, grandchildren; Theresa C., Patricia, Christina, Rebecca, Joseph, Andrew, Derek, Peyton, Lucas, and nine great grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters; Irene and Shirley (Dave)Long).
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening at 6:00PM at Faith Chapel in Burlington, WI. (141-West Ridge Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday at the church from 4:00PM until the time of services. Burial will take place on Wednesday at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
