Raymond A. Mayo Jr., age 94, of Kenosha, formally of Antioch, IL and Brooksville FL, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Froedtert South Hospital KMCC. Raymond was born on May 23, 1925 in Chicago, IL to Raymond Sr. and Leona (Kreps) Mayo. A World War II Veteran, he served in the United States Navy from September 1942 until January 1946. Raymond married Eleanor A. Slahor in Chicago on May 6, 1950 and she preceded him in death in 1993. He re-married Mary D. Erhard on April 17, 2006 and she also preceded him in death. Raymond worked for many years as a Manager with Meyer Material, formerly Enterprise Ready Mix. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting and shooting the bull with anyone that would listen.
He was also preceded in death by, his parents; a son, Daniel P. Cullen; a granddaughter, Carrie A. Cullen and his sister, Marjorie G. Skora.
Raymond is survived by, his daughter, Sandy L. Beller of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Raymond (Amy) Beller of Woodleaf, NC, James (Amy) Beller of Kenosha, and Danielle Dahl of McHenry, IL and Jennifer Cullen of Antioch, IL; eight great grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Blake, Alexis, Austin, Mackenzie, Kyler and Kailyn, as well as other family and friends.
A visitation with the family will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Woman’s Club (6028 – 8th Avenue) with interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Antioch, IL.
