Raberta A. Strohkirch, age 80, of Kenosha passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Brookside Care Center. Raberta was born on November 11, 1937 in Eau Claire to Frank and Rachel (Hathaway) Hilt. She was educated in the schools of Eau Claire and graduated from Cornell High School. Raberta always had fond memories of her time growing up working on her family’s resort, The Hathaway Lodge, which she helped take care of the grounds and cabins. She married James Strohkirch in Chippewa Falls on July 21, 1962. She worked for 10 years at OMC in Waukegan and for 18 years as a housekeeper with the Pennoyer Home. Raberta enjoyed volunteering at the hospital, going to the senior center, playing cards and bingo and she was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and First United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys were family vacations, spending time up north with her husband in their camper and times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, James and her son Tom Strohkirch.
Raberta is survived by, two children, Randy (Penny) Strohkirch of Racine and Kristine (Paul) Carreon of Kenosha; four grandchildren, Courtney, Autumn, Tresa and Eric; four great grandchildren, Hope, Ricky, Dahlia and Jackson; her sister, Ramona (Jim) Goettl as well as other family and friends.
A memorial service for Raberta will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church (919 -60th Street). A visitation with the family will take place on Monday at the church following the service until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be greatly appreciated.
