Oliver ?Ollie? George Hamilton, 93, De Pere, peacefully passed into heaven on February 19, 2005 with his beloved wife at his side.
Born January 15, 1912 in Somers, WI, Ollie was the son of the late George and Josephine (Pfeiffer) Hamilton. As a lad, Ollie helped his father deliver the mail on horseback.
A 1939 graduate of Marquette University Law School and was a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association. Ollie worked as an adjuster for Sentry Insurance until World War II. During the war Ollie worked for Nash Motors as an engine technician. After the war Ollie rejoined Sentry Insurance and worked in Chicago and Milwaukee. In 1948 Ollie relocated to Madison where he met Loretta Casey whom he married in Kenosha, WI on October 20, 1949. Until his retirement in 1976 Ollie was a defense attorney for Sentry Insurance.
An avid outdoorsman, Ollie was an accomplished hunter and fly fisherman who once was chased off a stream in Yellowstone National Park by a bison. As members of the Shamrock Club, Ollie and Loretta made many memorable trips to Ireland. Ollie was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace parish in Madison.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; brother-in-law Raymond Casey of Brookfield; and nephews Robert Hamilton Sr., of Somers and William Hamilton of Holiday FL. His brother and several brothers-in-law preceded Ollie in death.
A mass of Christian Burial for ?Ollie? will be celebrated on Thursday February 24, 2005 at 11:00AM at St. Marks Catholic Church in Kenosha.(7117-14th Avenue) Visitation for ?Ollie? will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of mass. Burial will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
