Nancy L. Eckhardt, age 75 a resident of Kenosha died Thursday March 3, 2005 at Kenosha Medical Center.
Born on November 19, 1929 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Hartwig) Maleski.
A lifelong Kenosha area resident, she attended local schools.
She married Michael Shatrwka at Bristol Methodist Church in Bristol. He died in 1959. She then married Harold Eckhardt in 1960. He also preceded her in death in 1988.
Nancy loved to read and would often volunteer her time at the Kenosha Literacy Council. She attended Immanuel United Methodist Church, and had been a member there since 1990. Through her involvement with the church, she also was an active volunteer with the Shalom Center.
She is survived by one son Chris (Mary) Eckhardt of Kenosha; one daughter Morgen Eckhardt of Kenosha; three grandchildren, Ryan, Robyn, Kelly Eckhardt, all of Kenosha, one brother Jack (Janet) Maleski of Bullhead City Arizona and one sister Lita (George) Strampp of England.
Her parents, two husbands, two daughters in infancy and a sister Janice Fox preceded her in death.
A memorial service for Nancy will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2005 at 6:30 PM at Immanuel Methodist Church in Kenosha. (5410-Sheridan Road) A visitation with the family will be Wednesday at the church from 6:00 PM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Kenosha Literacy Council.
