Michael John Havn, age 37, died tragically as a result of an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver, Wednesday, August 9, 2006, in Kenosha.
He was born on January 13, 1969, in Racine. He was the son of Sonny and Judith Havn.
He was a lifetime resident of Racine. He received his Bachelors Degree in English, inspired by his love of literature.
For many years he worked along side his father and together they ran Havn Builders. On October 21, 2000, he married Erika Trieber in Racine.
He loved to mountain bike and run at Petrifying Springs, read, take family walks, camping and hiking. He loved spending time with his one year old son Finn, dog Darwin and cat Sheena, and spending time with family and friends.
He was a compassionate man who thought of others before himself. He felt it very important that people look out for one another.
He is survived by his wife Erika and son Finn of Racine; His parents; two brothers Scott and Kristine Havn of Golden, CO, and Benjamin Havn and Adrianne Bowen of Louisville, KY; and sister Rebecca and Erick Walquist of Racine; Father and Mother-in-law Dwight and Nancy Trieber of Racine; Sister-in-law Monica and Stephen Richmond of Kenosha; Brother-in-law Dwight Trieber II of Racine; best friend Jon (Jennifer) Kerkman; and many other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Francis and Alice Quirk, paternal grandparents Arne and Sigrid, Aunt Laila Havn and Cousin Luke Havn, and his beloved dog Buddha.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 14, 2006, at 1:00pm at Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church (625 College Ave., Racine). No Memorial Gathering will take place prior to the service.
