Melvin A. Boehme, age 81, a resident of Kenosha, passed away Wednesday August 11, 2010 at his residence.
Melvin was born February 22, 1929 in Kenosha, the son of Adolph and Paula (Jubelt) Boehme.
On June 12, 1948, Melvin married Betty J. Fiege at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church. Melvin was a self employed mechanic and from 1949-1965 owned and operated Mel Boehme?s Cities Service Station in Kenosha, then was employed as a mechanic for Kenosha Unified Schools. He owned and operated a small engine repair shop until his retirement in 1987. Mel was a handyman and enjoyed wood working.
Melvin is survived by his wife Betty, one son Wayne S. (Carol) of Burlington WI and two daughters LuAnn (Tom) Modica of Boone IA and Linda S. (Frank) Govekar of Somerset WI. He is also survived by six grandchildren Lisa Hach, Kate (Seksun) Monroe, Kristen (Justin) Thimmesch, Kelli Modica, Denise (Corey) Ludwig, Dawn (Jason) Croone and three great grandchildren. Mel is further survived by one brother Albert and one sister Darlene Boehme.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, one son Paul D Boehme in 1985 and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenosha. (5038-19th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be held on Monday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
