Margaret Lorenzen, age 89, a resident of Kenosha, went home to be with God on Sunday September 6, 2015 at St.Catherine’s Hospital with her three loving daughters and grandchildren and great grandchildren at her side.
Margaret was born on February 7th, 1926 in Kenosha to William and Teresa (Kollmann) Niesen. On April 29th, 1950, she was united in marriage with Edward Lorenzen and they raised four daughters together.
She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Burlington WI. Margaret was a wonderful mother to her girls and was very involved with PTA activities at St. Casimir’s. She was a joyful and frequent volunteer at the Kenosha Achievement Center and worked as a teacher’s aide for the early age program in the Kenosha Unified Schools. Margaret was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing cards with her friends at card club for many years. She was also an avid Cubs fan along with her husband.
Margaret was a devout Catholic and she and her husband attended daily Mass.She was a former member of St. Casimir’s and Mt.Carmel Church and more recently a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she will be missed for her kind manner and bright smile.
Margaret was proud to have lived her whole life on the same Kenosha city block.
Surviving her are her daughters; Paula Yurchak, Janice (Donald) Fuller and Laura Lorenzen all of Kenosha. She is survived in addition by her son in law Ralph Mann and beloved grandchildren; Michelle (Eric) George, Tricia Henoch, Shane (Keri) Mann, Colleen (Eric) Juga, Nick Fuller and Melynda (Chris) Reuther and also by her great grand children, Danielle, Brooklyn, Crystal, Megan, Tressa, Keegan, Makayla, Aubrey, Derek, Kaitlyn, Carson and Myla, and also by her sister Doris Ruprecht of Cleveland Ohio.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, her daughter Claudia, and her great granddaughter Haleigh. She was also preceded in death by two sisters; Genevieve Banfy and MaryAnn Willoughby and a son in law Bill Yurchak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday September 12th 2015 at 10:00AM at St Mary’s Catholic Church (corner of 39th Ave. and 73rdSt.). Visitation with the family will take place on Saturday at the church from 8:30AM until the time of the services. Entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to either the Kenosha Achievement Center or St. Mary’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
