Mardell M. Wiegert, age 75, a resident of Pleasant Prairie, died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at her residence.
Born on April 22, 1931 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Carrie (Matson) Waldow Sr.
She was educated in local schools.
On May 28, 1949 at Friedens Lutheran Church in Kenosha she married the love of her life, Lloyd Wiegert Sr.
Together they would have four wonderful children.
As a younger woman, she worked for Chicago-Milwaukee-St. Paul-Pacific Rail Road Company. She also was employed at local grocery stores as a checker.
She loved the great outdoors, especially fishing, but also just sitting on the back porch. She loved to look at the clear blue sky, trees swaying, birds going in and out of bird houses, and squirrels running back and forth. Every spring she would wait for the same pair of ducks that always came. That gave her great joy.
She really enjoyed yard work, and any chores that would take outside. She played bingo and would treasure family gatherings and the preparations that go along with them. She particularly enjoyed Halloween hay rides.
She is survived by her loving husband Lloyd Sr. of Pleasant Prairie; two sons; Lloyd Jr. (Peggy) of Kenosha, Jeffery (Nina) of Pleasant Prairie; two daughters, Pamela Ruth Conley of Kenosha; Connie (Gerald) Fonk of Kenosha, ten grandchildren; Kathryn Erickson, Robert (Danielle) Kalla, Joseph (Laura) Fonk, Adam (Michelle) Fonk, Adrienne Wiegert, Anthony Wiegert, Daniel Wiegert, Anne Wiegert, Leslie Wiegert, Nicholas Wiegert; great granddaughter, Katie Erickson, one brother Arthur J. (Gladys) Waldow Jr. of Kenosha and one sister Corrine Pocan of Kenosha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Alaina Sorensen, and a beloved son-in-law David Conley.
At her request, private services were held.
