Madonna Rognerud (1930 – 2012)

Madonna “Donna” M. Rognerud, age 82 a resident of Racine, died Friday April 13th 2012 at her residence.

Donna was born January 20, 1930 in Racine to the late Erwin W. and Frances B. (Madden) Lojeski. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Even D. Rognerud on May 5, 1950 at St Rose Catholic Church in Racine.

Donna spent her life as a loving wife, mother, wonderful grandmother and homemaker and it is reflected in the love of her children. She spent many years as a waitress at DeRango’s and Giovanni’s in Racine. Donna had a passion for watching birds and growing beautiful flower gardens.

She is survived by her dear children Deborah A. (Timothy) Wakefield of Clarksdale, Arizona, Rebecca J. (John) Steimle of Racine, Krista F. (Steve) Sigler of Joliet, Illinois, Rhonda M. (John) Bose of Racine, Heidi M. (Daniel) Conwell of Cincinnati, Ohio and Even Daniel (Sallie) Rognerud of Racine. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather, Kelly, Rachael, Jeremy, Eric, Stacey, Steven, Stefany, Cammy, Kyle, Katie, Jonathon, Danielle, Ian, Edie, and step-children, Jessica and Dylan and her great grandchildren, Tabitha, Tyler, Trenton, Mollie, Elijah, Gavin, Callie, Audrey, Lukas, Preston, Taylor, Marlee, Samantha, Kayla, Jayda, JR, Alyza, Skylar and Amelia, as well as brothers Jerry Lojeski and Bob (Sharon) Lojeski and sisters Judy (Frank) Sharkozy and Mary Ann Lojeski, sister-in-law Judy M. Lojeski and dear friend Susan Rodriguez. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband Even D. Rognerud on September 23, 1980, her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Even and Krista Rognerud, her brother Walter W. Lojeski and sister-in-law Jeanne M. Lojeski, her brother Bill E. Lojeski and her brother Frank R. Lojeski and sister-in-law Shirley A. Lojeski and by nephews Michael W. Lojeski, Gerald R. Lojeski Jr. and John W. Lojeski. She was further preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Lewie Rognerud and sister-in-law Jean Rognerud, brother-in-law Bert Rognerud and sister-in-law Marie Willis and nephews Jeffrey Willis and Claude Rognerud and niece Jo Ellen Gray.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation for the wonderful care given to our mother by Hospice Alliance especially Kate, Debbie, Mary and Barb. We especially want to thank Susie-Q for her wonderful and compassionate care of my mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (1533-Erie St Racine). Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Breast Cancer Research in the name of Becky Steimle would be appreciated.
