Madelyn I. Adamson, age 100 a resident of Kenosha, passed away Monday January 3rd 2011 at Harmony House in Kenosha.
Madelyn was born December 23, 1910 in Kanawha IA to the late George and Bertha (Miller) Hippen. She was educated in the schools of Iowa and moved to the Kenosha area in 1929. Madelyn was employed at various restaurants including the Dayton Hotel and Oage Thomsen. She was also employed at Violet Beauty. Madelyn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a sports enthusiast and loved jeopardy. Madelyn was a Kenosha for 81 years.
Madelyn is survived by one son Ken (Adeline) Adamson of Kenosha and two daughters Gini Adamson of Milwaukee and Marcia (Ernie) Dost of Forrest Park IL. She is also survived by five grandchildren Gina (Mark) Andreson, Lisa (Dave) Maryanov, Jeremy Adamson, Margaret Dost and Andy Dost and seven great grandchildren Autumn Greco, Abby Adamson, Alexis Adamson, Gerald Maryanov, Adina Maryanov, Matthew Andreson and Anna Andreson.
Madelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter in 1972, two brothers and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday January 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (7307 40th Ave.). Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday at the church from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Susan G Komen for the Cure (Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309) would be appreciated.
