Lydia Badillo, age 79, of Kenosha, died Monday August 21, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center.
Lydia was born on April 18, 1938 in Mexico to Roberto and Eloisa (Garza) Herrera. On May 21, 1959, she was united in marriage with Robert Badillo in Mexico. They moved to Wisconsin in 1959.
Lydia took pride in being a wonderful homemaker; she wholeheartedly devoted her life to being the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who loved nothing more than cooking a delicious meal for her loved ones. Lydia was a vivacious and vibrant woman. She exuded love, kindness and compassion for all, and every person she met was treated like her best friend. Lydia loved to socialize and enjoyed shopping, eating out and hitting the casinos, but her absolute favorite pastime was sharing stories with her great friends and beloved family.
Lydia often stated that one of her most memorable achievements was the day she became an American citizen and how she took great joy in working at the Great Lakes Naval Base for many years. She was also a faithful member of St. Mark Catholic Church.
Lydia is survived by her husband Robert Badillo Sr. of Kenosha, and by her children, Robert Badillo Jr. of Florida, Richard Badillo, and Linda Badillo, both of Kenosha. She is further survived by her grandchildren Eric Badillo and Edgar Perez, two great grandchildren, a sister Gloria Santiago of Arizona, two nieces, Araceli (Goddaughter) of Hawaii, Sandra of Arizona and a nephew, Eduardo also of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother Armando Herrera.
Lydia was a proud and spirited woman who adored her family and friends. She lived her life to the fullest and demonstrated fight, bravery and courage through the very end. We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of such an amazing woman.
