Leo C. Torris, age 93, a resident of Kenosha, died Sunday October 16th 2016 at Hospitality Nursing Home.
Leo was born on September 18th, 1923 to Cirillo and Virginia (Atencio) Torres in Center, Colorado. He was one of 11 children, seven boys and four girls.
Leo was in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was stationed in Europe and served two tours before being Honorably Discharged in 1948. In 1953, he moved to Kenosha and on January 28th, 1956, he was united in marriage with Joan Novak at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
Leo worked as an electrician at several companies including AMC/Chrysler, ultimately retiring in 1985 from Johnson Outboard. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors with the family. He also liked reading and working in the garden.
Surviving Leo is his beloved wife of 60 years Joan Torris of Kenosha, his son Andrew (Dawn) Torris and his daughter Suzanne Torris. He is further survived by four grandchildren, Tiffany Torris, Brent Torris, Geoffrey Ledon and Rachel Ledon, one sister, Eva Tutlewski and many nieces and nephews.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael in 2014, his sisters Charlotte, Alice and Lucille and his brothers Al, Dick, Raymond, Andrew, Frank and Chris.
A Memorial Service for Leo will be held on Friday, October 21st, 2016 at 11:00AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (7117-14th ave). Visitation with the family will be held on Friday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of services. Committal with Full Military Honors will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery (21731-Spring St. Union Grove).
