Lawrence J. “Butch” Butschli, 79, ofKenosha, passed away at Grande Prairie Nursing Home in Pleasant Prairie on April 25, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Larry was born January 19, 1936 to Joseph and Theresa (Lorenz) Butschli in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Joseph and sister-in-law Audrey and his brother Jacob.
On June 9, 1956 he married Beverly (Bonnie) D. Butschli (nee Kuphall). He served in both the Wisconsin and Illinois National Guard for eight years. He pursued a career in Window Dressing and Display starting at The Grand in Milwaukee, followed by 17 years at Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. in Chicago and 17 years at Sears, Roebuck and Co. also in the Chicago area, followed by his medical retirement in 1988. He loved being with people (he missed his calling as a tour guide), and really enjoyed painting and putting together great color schemes, and was well known for his abilities in designing window displays. He always said that his two great loves were his family and fishing.
Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years; his son James Armin (Peg) Butschli and their three children, Lauren Marie and fiancé Pablo Ruffalo, Brittany Lynn and son Dustin and Cassandra Nicole; his daughter Suzanne Therese (Richard) Grueter and their three children, Kaitlyn Rose, Melissa Morgan and Benjamin Lee; his daughter Julianne Jo (Joe) Tominaro and their five children, Jennifer A. (nee Tominaro) (A.J.) McCartney, Kristy Marie White and fiancé John Gill IV and his son John Gill V and their daughter Rylan Patricia, Thomas Michael White, Kimberly Elizabeth (nee White) (Branndyn) Mullikin, and Courtney Danielle White. Larry is further survived by his former son-in-law Thomas Michael White Sr.; his three nephews, Donald (Cheryl) Butschli and children, Daniel (Sandy) Butschli, and David (Claudia) Butschli and children, as well as other family members who reside inHungary.
A celebration of Larry’s homegoing and a time to visit with the family will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at All Saints Mausoleum (3300-Springbrook Rd. Pleasant Prairie WI 53158). In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice in Larry’s name would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank ALL of the people (especially Carmen) who cared for Larry during his many trials and his final battle with dementia.
