LaVerne E. Hagen, age 82, a resident of Kenosha, died Wednesday July 5, 2006 at Kenosha Medical Center.
Born on December 31, 1923 in Coeur d?Alene Idaho, she was the daughter of the late Fred H. and Martha (Hoff) Fishback.
She moved to Kenosha as an infant, was educated in local schools and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1941.
On December 1, 1945, she married Harley Kenneth Hagen at Friedens Lutheran Church in Kenosha.
Together with her husband and parents, they shared ownership and operated Fishbackand Hagen Grocery in Paddock Lake for many years. Prior to her marriage she was employed at Coopers Menswear and from 1974-1984 she worked part-time at Sears.
She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Altar Guild and served on the church finance committee. She was also past matron of Eastern Star Chapter #92, and a past member of J.U.S. Club and the Kenosha Historical Society.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, collecting shells, and crocheting.
She is survived by two sons; David H. (Diane) Hagen of Bristol; Gary (Joy) Hagen of Kenosha; one daughter, Barbara J. Hagen of Rochester N.Y.; three granddaughters; Jennifer (fianc?e Joseph Lawton) Hagen of Milw.; Christie Hagen of Kenosha; Katy Hagen of Kenosha; two sisters Arlene Young of Kenosha and Delores Adams of Marco Island, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harley.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 7, 2006 at 10:00AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha. (7104-39th Avenue) Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00AM until time of service. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the American Lung Association or the United Hospital Systems Pulmonary Rehab Unit.
