Larry Zirbel died on Friday March 14th at the age of 95. He was born in Chicago on September 1st 1929. After leaving Chicago he moved full time to Kenosha County. He joined the army and was stationed first at Fort Riley in Kansas and later at Fort Sill. He then served in Korea and Japan from 1953-1955 reaching the rank of corporal. After returning from the service he got a job as an apprentice electrician. He went on to own Zirbel Electric and the Paddle Shoppe. He was an avid golfer and bowler and is a member of the Kenosha bowling hall of fame. He was a long time member of Bethany/New Life Lutheran church and volunteer.
He was preceded in death by Greta Zirbel his wife of of 62 years and 2 sons Larry J Zirbel Jr and Steven G Zirbel. He is survived by a son Terry (Michelle) Zirbel of Punta Gorda, Florida, also many family members and close family friends.
A memorial service at New Life church Somers Campus will be held in the spring/summer.
