Kenneth Becker, age 92, a resident of Kenosha, died Monday October 25, 2010 at St. Catherine’s Hospital.
Kenneth was born on April 23, 1918 to Frank and Beatrice (Edmonson) Becker in Pennsylvania. He was educated in the schools of Wisconsin and was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Army Air Corp, enlisting on January 21, 1942 and separating on October 10, 1945. He served in North France and Europe as a Medical Corpman.
On April 30, 1952, Kenneth married Joyce Bolton in South Carolina. He was employed at Gordon Lumber for almost 50 years retiring in 1982. Kenneth loved to walk, socialize and enjoyed eating out and reading. He also loved to do yard work and enjoyed the outdoors. Kenneth was very proud of his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Joyce, three sons Kent (Nancy) Becker of Kenosha, Jim Becker of Round Lake Beach IL and Karl Becker of Brookfield WI and one daughter Jan (Tom) Hughes of Waterford WI. He is also survived by nine grandchildren Chrissy (Bob) Sossaman, Mike Hughes, Josh Becker, Laurel Becker, Jake Becker, Lauren Becker, Chelsea Becker, Adam Becker and Caroline Becker and one great grandson Wyatt Sossaman.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank and Elwood and one brother in infancy.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday October 30, 2010 at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church (2001 80th St) at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials would be appreciated to St. Mary’s Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army or Hospice Alliance.
