Kay Marie Collins, 59, of Racine WI, passed away on January 4, 2011 at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital All Saints after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
Kay was born on October 12, 1951 to George and JoAnne (Carlsen) Collins in Tomahawk WI. She moved to Union Grove WI as a young girl and was a graduate of Union Grove High School ?Class of 1969?.
Kay attended St. Paul?s Lutheran Church. She had been employed at Walker-Forge for a number of years until she took a disability retirement. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her mother JoAnne Collins of Tomahawk WI, and two daughters Melissa (Rich) Moos of Elkhorn WI and Kristen (Matt) Kaprelian of Racine WI. She is also survived by six grandchildren Matthew Moos, R.J. Moos, Nicolas Moos, Matthew Kaprelian Jr, Madilyn Kaprelian and Mikayla Kaprelian. Kay is further survived by one brother George (Sharon) Collins of MN and three sisters Lynn (Marc) Soma of MN, Kim Collins of MN, and Sue Tyykila of Tomahawk WI.
Kay was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church (1610 Main Street Union Grove). Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Please omit flowers. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
