John R. Koling, age 83, a resident of Pleasant Prairie died Saturday February 24, 2018 in Florida.
John was born in Kenosha on July 14, 1934 to John and Gertrude (Voves). He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. On October 3, 1959, he married Carolyn R. Aiello at St. James Catholic Church.
John served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked at American Motors/Chrysler until retiring in July 1991. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His favorite pastimes included golf, bowling, traveling, playing cards, woodworking, taking pictures, doing puzzles, building Christmas villages and watching his favorite sports teams the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee Brewers. John was a talented handyman and “John fix it” was a phrase often used by family and friends for his ability to repair almost anything.
John is survived by his three loving children; Renee (Karl) Timm of Seattle, Washington, Ronald Koling of San Mateo, California, and Rhonda Koling of Pleasant Prairie as well as his two beloved granddaughters, Andrea and Emily Timm. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn Bain (Allen) of Texas.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, and brother Edward.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 13, 2018 at 10:30AM at St. Marys Catholic Church. (corner of 39th Avenue and 73rd Street) Visitation will be on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Burial will follow at St. George Catholic Cemetery.
