JoEllen Mae Williams, age 72, of Kenosha, passed away on January 30th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kenosha on November 12th, 1952, to the late Richard Hartung and Jean (Sorenson) Hartung. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her role as a homemaker. On August 18th, 1972, she married Kenneth Williams at First Congregational Church in Kenosha and stayed faithfully married to him until his death in 2015. Most of her life was spent in Kenosha but she was in Racine for the last 15 to 20 years of her life.
She is survived by her loving children: Marcus (Miranda) Williams, Kevin Williams, Kari Williams, and Dana (Shane) Dunlap, grandchildren: Trent, Devin, Violet, Elora, Callum, Lillian, Jason, Hunter, and Zac, brothers: Larry (Diane) Hartung, and many other living relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Joy Renee Williams, sister Bonnie Wilkinson and her husband Richard Wilkinson, and mother and father-in-law: Keith and Audrey Williams.
The family would like to thank Pastor Charlie Hansen of Holy Spirit Community Church, Tim Specht, Rick Banulis, and all the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha for all their love, care and compassion during JoEllen’s final days.
A celebration of life will be held at Holy Spirit Community Church at a later date.
