Jeffrey C. LaVine, age 63 a resident of Twin Lakes, died Saturday May 12th 2012 at Aurora Medical Center-Burlington.
Born on March 4th 1949 in Chicago IL, he is the son of the late Harvey B. LaVine and June (Hyman) LaVine of Chicago, IL.
He was educated in the schools of Chicago and its suburbs and graduated from the University of IL-Chicago with a teaching degree and a specialization in history.
He was currently employed as a history teacher at Wilmot Union High School. He was popular with the students and was an avid fan and supporter of the school?s girls? softball team. While he loved the subject of history as a whole, he was a Civil War buff. He also enjoyed music, classic rock to even more modern hits. He never completely let go of his long-time dream of being a rock star.
He is survived by one daughter, Rhiannon (Damien Swann) LaVine of Chicago IL; one step daughter, Adrienne (Michael) Fiori-Longyear of Phoenix AZ; one brother Dr. Lester (Becki) LaVine of Holly Springs, NC; one sister, Marsha (John) Hollister R.N. of Pleasant Prairie; nieces Lindsay LaVine, Stephanie (Jamie) Moore; nephews Drew (Melissa) LaVine and Bryan (Tina) Wehr; great nephews Cary Wehr, James, Brodie, and Mason Moore.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 18th 2012 at 7:00PM at the Kemper Center Founders Hall in Kenosha. (6501-3rd Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Friday at Founders Hall from 5:00PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated. The family will be setting up a memorial fund in Jeffrey?s honor, part of which will be designated for a tree to be planted by the softball field at Wilmot Union High School.
