Janice Marie Whitten, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, December 20, 2024.
She was born on June 7, 1937, to the late Elmer and Marie (Pregent) Taylor in Hayward, WI. On July 2, 1960, Jan married the love of her life, Fred, and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2021.
Janice worked at Piggly Wiggly for 25 years. After retirement, she lovingly babysat her grandchildren.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, playing Mahjong at the Senior Center, bird watching, completing puzzles, knitting, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Janice is survived by her children: Garry (Glenda) Whitten and Jodie (Michael) Marquardt; her grandchildren: Jarrett (Tanya) Wood, Jordan (Ben) Wood Sappington, Nick Whitten, and Shannon (Evan) Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Donald (Kathy) Taylor and Jerry (Pat) Taylor; her sister and best friend, Grace (Bob) Smith; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and her sister, Mary Ann Taylor.
Per Jan’s wishes, no services will be held.

You will be so missed, I would call you when I was sick or you called me and pick up stuff for one another as we were neighbors. We called one another every day for texts to check on one another and what was happening in the neighborhood, thank you for treating me like family and going to your Holidays at times.
