Janet O. Hodler, age 78, a resident of Kenosha, passed away on Monday February 8th, 2016 at Aurora Hospital in Kenosha.
Janet was born on August 9th, 1937 in Zion, Illinois to Dallas and Dorothy (Baird) Evans. She was educated in the schools of Zion. She married Gene Hodler, Sr. and they relocated to Riverside Rhode Island where they would own and operate a hardware store. They would later divorce after 35 years of marriage.
Janet worked various jobs, including Rolling Hills Manor in Zion, but her greatest joy was her home and her family. She was exceptionally caring and loving and impacted countless lives. She was a proud member of The Harmonicats, where she played bass harmonica. Janet will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Surviving Janet are her sons Gene C. Hodler, Jr of Salem, Wisconsin and Eric Michael Hodler, Sr. of Beach Park, Illinois, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dennis (Trudy) Evans and by her sisters Etta Proeber and Phyllis (Ed) Nelson.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, a boy in infancy, her son Dallas and her grand daughter as well as her sisters Virginia, Betty, Peg and Jay and her brothers Dallas, Don, Al and Terry.
Services will be private and burial will take place at a later date at North Shore Gardens in North Chicago.
