Janet Ann Marini, age 81 a resident ofKenosha, died Saturday March 28, 2015 at her residence.
Born on July 5th 1933 inKelloggMN, she was the daughter of the late Joseph John and Julia Unk (Stroot) Leisen.
She attended and graduated fromMarquetteUniversityand went on to earn a masters degree in social work from Case Western Reserve. She received a fellowship at Catholic University in Washington DC.
In November of 1964 she married Nick Marini inKenosha. He would precede her in death in 2003.
She was employed for 35 years by Catholic Social Services of Kenosha and Racine, retiring in the 1990’s.
She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and participated in many different roles over the years. She was also a facilitator for their grief group.
She was active at theKenoshaSeniorCenterand at St. Vincent De Paul. She also participated in activities at the Kenosha Moose Club.
She is survived by one son; Louis (Sophia Sanchez) Marini of Chicago IL; two daughters Maria Marini ofKenosha, Monica (Richard) Chylla of East Lansing MI and two grandchildren; Joshua Christofferson ofKenoshaand Miranda Marini ofKenosha. She is further survived by four brothers William (Muriel) Leisen of MN; Joseph (Regina) Leisen of MN; Vince (Karen) Leisen of Iowa; Rich (Rhea) Leisen of Iowa and one sister Eileen (Richard) Grindeland of CA.
She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Holtz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 1st 2015 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kenosha. (2224-45th Street) A visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday morning from 9:30AM until 11:00AM at the Woman’s Club of Kenosha located at 6028-8th Avenue. (Across fromLibraryPark in downtownKenosha.) Burial will follow at St. George Catholic Cemetery.
