James Peer was born in Dodgeville WI in 1932 and passed away January 7, 2011. After moving to Kenosha he worked at American Motors/Chrysler for thirty years. Most of his time was spent in the press room and he finished up on the 820 engine assembly line after Chrysler ceased auto assembly. Just prior to the KYF closing, Jim was the longest term resident, having lived there for over 30 years. He was a downtown character who could be seen at the Simmons Library, at the Olive Tree having breakfast or dinner, the Oriental Inn watching old movies or a downtown tavern sipping a beer or a whiskey.
Jim is survived by his sister Mary Schultys of Salina KS and four nieces Maria Schultys, Natasha Smith, Heidi Faulk, Mai-ling Ulmo and a nephew Shawn Schultys.
Committal servcies will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at 9:00 AM.
