James M. Herrick age 78 a resident ofKenosha, died Thursday March 12, 2015 at the Hospice House inRacine.
James was born October 10th, 1936 in Harbor Springs MI to Ned and Vivian Herrick. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961and on November 28th 1959 he was united in marriage with Joyce Niehaus at St. Thomas Catholic Church inKenosha. Their union was blessed with the addition of four sons.
James was employed for almost 30 years by the Kappus Bread Company retiring in 1999, and also spent time working for the Wonder Bread Company. In his younger days, he served as a Little League Baseball coach for Kenosha Tire for many years. James and Joyce were snow birds who loved to travel toFlorida. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and was a fan of all hisWisconsinsports teams; Brewers, Packers and Badgers. He and his wife are members of St. Therese Catholic Church and also members of the Moose Lodge.
James will be deeply missed by his wife of 55 years Joyce, and by his sons James (Celene) Herrick, Todd Herrick, Michael (Rhonda) Herrick, and Paul Herrick. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren James (Lanah) Herrick, Vanessa (Andy Haapanen) Herrick, Amanda (Thomas) Dohman, Ryan Gustavus-Herrick and Aaron Herrick; his great grandchildren Peyton, Addison, Harper and Amy and by his sister Carol Kormash ofMilanMI.
James was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers Jerry, Jack and Mahlon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 19th 2015 at 11:00 at St. Therese Catholic Church inKenosha. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Burial will take place at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
