Isaac Keliipio, a resident of Sturtevant, died Thursday October 12, 2017 at his home with his loving family around him.
Isaac was born in Hilo Hawaii on April 1, 1930 to Isaac Keliipio II and Kathryn (O’Brien) Keliipio. After high school graduation, Isaac served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and the U.S. Army. On January 29, 1955 Isaac married Jean Hatlevig in Winona MN.
Isaac was a gifted swimmer and taught swimming for many years. He taught lifesaving techniques and was worked with the US Navy, the Red Cross and the Boy Scouts. He and Jean enjoyed hiking and swimming well into their 60’s. He loved to spend time with his family, and his children remember fondly listening to Hawaiian music every Sunday morning. Isaac was passionate about giving blood, donating gallons in his lifetime. He was also very active in the local UAW and made many friends through his work there.
Surviving Isaac are two sons, Isaac Keliipio IV of Kenosha and Robert (Sheri) Keliipio of Milwaukee; three daughters Nancy (Russ) Doers of Kansasville, Marie Keliipio of Milwaukee and Dawn (Robert) Schubring of New Berlin. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a brother Anthony (Sue) Keliipio of Oahu, Hawaii.
Isaac was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Jean in 2010, one sister Kathrine, and two brothers William and Eugene.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (7117 14th Avenue Kenosha) at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
