Irvin Garrett (1926 – 2005)

Irvin L Garrett, age 78, a resident of Racine, died Monday March 14 2005 at Woodstock Health and Rehab Center in Kenosha.

Born on April 11 1926, in Racine, he was the son of the late Irvin L. and Vlasta (Jansa) Garrett Sr.

He was educated in the schools of Racine and graduated from Horlick High School.

A lifelong Racine resident, he married Dorothy Tentscher on September 18 1948 in Racine.

He was employed as a machinist by Twin Disc for 19 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of St. Lucy?s Catholic Church. He enjoyed cribbage, fishing and traveling. He also participated in area golf leagues for many years.

His wife of Racine, two sons Tom Garrett and Michael Garrett, both of Racine; one daughter Susan J. Goodwin of Racine, two grandchildren, Hugh Goodwin Jr. of Racine and Donna R. Garrett of Portland Oregon, survive him. He is further survived by one brother Ramon (Janet) Garrett of Belleville Il and one brother in law, George Tentscher of South Milwaukee.

His parents and a sister in law Jeane Tentscher preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 18 2005 at 11:00AM at St. Lucy?s Catholic Church in Racine. Visitation with the family will be on Friday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of mass. Burial will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park.
