Hector Cortes Garcia (1932 – 2005)

Hector Cortes Garcia, age 73 a resident of Waukegan, died Friday August 26, 2005 at Victory Hospital in Waukegan.

Born on February 27, 1932 in Mexico, he was the son the late Cecilio Cortes and Cruz (Garcia) Cortes of Mexico.

In 1953 he married Maria Aurora Rodriquez in Mexico.

They came to the United States in the 1960?s.

He most recently was employed at a golf course.

He is survived by his wife, Maria of Waukegan, his mother of Mexico; three sons; Juan (Ana) Cortes, Fermin (Marina) Cortes, Martin (Laura) Cortes, three daughters Maria (Francisco) DoLorez Lopez, Leticia (Gary) Jastrom, Monica (Edwin) Valencia, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; two brothers Ramon (Graciela) Cortes of Waukegan and one brother in Mexico, one sister Guadalupe Cortes of Waukegan and four sisters of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by one brother and his father.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2005 at 11:00AM at Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Church in Waukegan. (2415-North Butrick Street) Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Libertyville IL. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening at the church from 4 PM until 9 PM.
