Harry Loren Peabody, a resident of Kenosha since 2024, having relocated from San Jose, CA to be near family, passed away on December 12th, 2025. He was 94 years old.
Born to the late Harry and Norma Peabody in Denver, CO, Harry spent his early years in Colorado before his father moved the family to Washington State to do work for the government. After high school, Harry joined the Navy and served in the Pacific as a Communications Officer during the Korean War.
After concluding his service in the Navy, Harry settled down in San Luis Obisbo, CA to attend California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). He earned his Bachelor’s in Engineering and went to work for the Aeronautic Industry for various companies until landing at Lockheed Martin where he worked on national defense projects for 40 years.
Harry was married to his first wife, Wana, during his Navy tour, and the two were blessed with five children. Wana passed away in 1983. He later met Claudia Denison at church in Saratoga, CA, where they were married on July 15th, 1989. He remained with Claudia for the rest of his life.
Though Harry was busy with work much of the time, he made time for his hobbies and interests. These included things like boating, RV trips, square and round dancing with Claudia, water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling abroad to visit his family in far off places like Germany, Sweden, and England. He was a lover of classic cars, especially Chryslers and Chevys. He also loved country music. He and Claudia enjoyed many different cruises, his favorite being their cruise to Alaska.
“Papa”, as he was called by many, loved his chocolate, which he called “health food”—this especially with a black cup of coffee at hand. Root beer floats and a good hamburger were also his first choices when dining out, even if it was a five-star restaurant!
Above everything, Harry is remembered as a dedicated family man who was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Claudia Denison-Peabody; his children Robert (Minja) Peabody of Boulder Creek, CA; Cerise (Zaylor) Corpuz of Cornelius, NC; Guy (Mona) Peabody of Lakeside, MT; Charlene Peabody of Austin, TX; as well as stepchildren Darren Denison and Renee (Steve) Grubb of Kenosha, WI. He is further survived by MANY (close to 30!) grandchildren and great grandchildren, including a new great grandchild born just hours before his passing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wana, and a daughter who passed in infancy.
Harry will be laid to rest at a later time at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA.
