Harold E. Lenz, age 77 a resident of Kenosha, died Sunday April 3, 2005 at the Becker Schoop Center in Racine.
Born on May 31, 1927 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Gottfied and Johanna (Bohr) Lenz.
He attended local schools and was a graduate of the University of WI engineering program.
He served in the US Army Airborne Division #101 and received an honorable discharge.
From 1958 until his retirement in 1986, he was employed as an engineer at JI Case in Racine.
He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge # 14 and the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286. He was also a charter member of the Vagabond Ski Club and a 10-year member of the Alpine Valley Ski Patrol. He had an interest in old cars and was a member of the Vintage Auto Club and the Kenosha Old Car Club.
He is survived by Phyllis (Hermann) Lenz, who was his wife and special long time dear friend. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Mrs. Helen Mueller of Sheboygan; a niece Cathy Clemens of Sheboygan, and niece Lisa (Todd) Priebe and their two children great nieces Bonnie and Tessa all of Sheboygan.
His parents and one brother Ray Lenz preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Lenz will be held on Thursday April 7, 2005 at 11:00AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Racine. (3700-Washington Avenue) Visitation for Mr. Lenz will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of services. Entombment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park in Racine.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Ronald Schulgit for his continued outstanding compassion over the many years he had cared for Mr. Lenz. Special mention is also necessary for the nurses and the entire Becker Schoop staff for their exceptional care. Mrs. Lenz also feels blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family that were there to help her through this very difficult time.
