Harlan E. Christopher, age 86 a resident of Kenosha died June 15, 2005 at Hospitality Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born on November 4, 1918 in Litchfield IL he was the son of the late Levin H. and Margaret (Faleetie) Christopher.
He was educated in the schools of Litchfield. He served in the US Army during WWII and was at Pearl Harbor. He was also a past member of the CCC. (Civilian Conservation Corp)
He came to the Kenosha area in 2000.
On May 12, 1945 he married Ruth E. Beck in Fort Sheridan IL. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2003.
He was employed as a press operator at Phansteel Corporation and retired in 1983. He also worked for 16 years at Six Flags Great America as a gate attendant after his retirement.
He is survived by three sons; Martin H. (Marie) of Kenosha; Randal E. (Jane) of Waukegan IL; Scott E. (Natalie) of Lake Villa IL; two brothers Earl and Robert both of Litchfield IL; four sisters Ruth Lowe of MO, Helen (Marshal) Harman of Litchfield IL; Mary Crabtree of Litchfield IL and Patricia (Kless) Gyzen of Waukegan IL; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Martha and one brother George.
Funeral service for Mr. Christopher will be held on Friday June 17, 2005 at 1:00PM at First Assembly of God ?Teen Chapel? in Kenosha. (10700-75th Street) Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday at the church from 5:00PM until 7:00. A second funeral service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the St. Timothy Methodist Church in Litchfield IL. Visitation will be at the church from 11:00AM at the church until the time of service. Burial will take place at Crabtree Cemetery.
