Harding A. Upright, 92, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday August 4th, 2016, with family at hand.
Harding was born in Oshkosh, WI to Joseph and Ellen (Kastman) Upright on September 15th, 1923. Of their four boys, Harding was the “wild one” yet also a favorite, as he repeatedly charmed his way back into his mother’s good graces.
Harding served in Europe while in the US Army during WWII. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in the Maintenance department at AMC/Chrysler. Harding was very social. He loved to “shoot the breeze” and he played a mean game of Black Jack. He often told the story about drinking champagne from a lady’s slipper in Paris during the war.
He is survived by his daughter Nan (Terry Sexton) Upright-Sexton of South Milwaukee and by his grandchildren Patrick (Rebecca) Sexton, Caitlin Sexton and Katherine Upright. He is also survived by the many family members of his deceased wife Irene.
Harding was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers, Herbert, Frank, Charles and by his son Joseph.
A special thanks and appreciation to his stepdaughter Wendy and grandson Ryan, along with Brenda and Mohamed from Hospice Alliance, for making it possible for Harding to stay in his home until the end.
A memorial service with military honors will take place in the near future.
